Kristen Alligood, Metro/Business News Assistant, invited me to Florida Today to interview me for Sunday’s Business section. I appreciated the care she took to make sure she understood exactly what I do and how I do it. She reviewed my answers to be certain she had gotten the essence of what I said. In the past when I have been interviewed, reporters have been in a hurry and points were missed entirely or misunderstood.
On the Spot
Kristen’s piercing questions had me on the spot to hone down my message. Her questions, as best as I remember went something like: “ Marty, in one sentence, describe exactly what results someone can expect from working with you?” or “Marty, what you do is very different. Explain it to me in a sentence or two. Give me the essence of what you do.”
Then the clincher – I’m not sure if it was why I do my business or about what difference working with me has had in my client’ lives, but I began to cry. I was as surprised as she was that tears of suppressed joy bubbled up. To see people getting results after just one or two sessions and making a real difference in their lives and in their income is heartwarming. Clients have gone from stuck to doubling their number of clients after just two conversations or have finally found their fastest path to cash after years of struggling. One person saved their family $4,300 by making a confident decision that enabled her daughter to be a part of special program without draining the family’s savings.
P.S. Her daughter won two of eight awards given at the end of the program! So everyone in the family benefits from the impact of discovery more of who you are and transforming negative beliefs into empowered action.
“Where do you see yourself in five years, Marty?”
I don’t want to steal Kristen’s thunder so I won’t say more here. I am anxious to see if I was effective in describing my work. I’ll be looking to see just where I need to tweak how I describe my coaching style and the results people are achieving. On Sunday, I’ll be buying the Sunday edition of “Florida Today” (Aug 14th) and flipping to the Business Section to read just how I did. Let me know what you think. In the meantime here are:
