Road Seven: My Value versus the Mighty Dollar
Your Own Journey
Let’s take a look at the difference between protest versus receptivity. When we are in protest, fighting what is, we become exhausted. It is like having one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake. You are fighting the very thing you need to move you forward. Being receptive to the moment, stopping and allowing information from your feelings to bubble up, removes your foot from the break.
Practice being receptive by:
1. Noticing as soon as you become frustrated with a situation. Stop. This is crucial, and many times, the hardest thing to do. Your frustration mounts as you keep forcing a result to happen in the hopes that you can break through the issue. Often you are just recycling the same resources with the same disappointing results.
2. Breathe three deep breaths so your inner, infinite resources have a chance to wend their way up through the adrenalin rush from your frustration and anger. Let them rise from your gut through your solar plexus to your heart and then to your frontal lobe to be decoded.
Receptive to the abundance of information, you will see what resolution appears and what new resources are at your command. Since you now know that there is always a solution, you can declare, “I am in charge.”
